The Loud Librarians Podcast is Back!

By Hannah Herrlich, Emerging Technologies Librarian

The premiere podcast of Fordham University Libraries, Loud Librarians, has spearheaded discussions from copyright and fair use to library service and collection development, with “all the library things” in between. During this time, the podcast has gained a small but mighty following. Really– See the image below!

The Loud Librarians’ loyal listener fanbase.

Since the podcast’s debut in October 2023, each season has followed a six-episode format, beginning in the middle of the Fall or Spring semesters (around mid-terms) and ending before final exams. Well, now, that format is dead and gone–listeners can now tune into Loud Librarians each month. That’s right, instead of airing six weekly episodes, in bulk, the podcast will now air episodes monthly (excluding July and August). This will keep podcast production on a consistent, rolling basis, rather than dividing content into seasons. This new monthly format allows for a more dynamic and engaging podcast structure, with the chance to stay up to date on certain library trends and topics and promote current happenings within the Fordham University Libraries on an ongoing basis.

Don’t worry, not everything about the podcast is being restructured. Listeners can still expect to come for the facts and stay for the laughs as the show’s hosts, Amber & Hannah, take their audience on an informative and comedic journey of all the library things. And sticking true to some aspects of the initial scheduling structure, episodes will still air on Thursdays at 3pm, so be on the lookout for new episodes on the second or third Thursday of the month!

The first two episodes of 2025 have already aired, and rest assured, that the Loud Librarians have plenty more up their sleeves to keep you both informed and entertained throughout the rest of the year.
